The Strength Within Ourself

Strength can be exemplified in numerous ways. Strength also shouldn’t be thought of as solely physical. Mental strength (or toughness) is nothing to scoff at and is perhaps the most valuable quality to have in life.  Olympic weightlifting forces its participants to exemplify these attributes.  This is why I am such a big advocate of the sport and participate competitively in it myself.

Strength is something we all want to feel.  It’s something that helps our confidence and our self-identity.  It enables us to feel capable and empowered. Weightlifting is an avenue to feel this way every single day.  Barbell Club at True Fitness is a way for our members to experience this strength within themselves every time they come in and touch a barbell.

I lift 6 days a week every single week, despite how I feel or what external stresses I am experiencing. I love to push my body to its limits mentally and physically.  We all want to feel strong in mind, body, and spirit.  For me, being able to lift more than my bodyweight overhead, gives me the trust that I can do anything I put my mind to…. you can too!
